Perry made earned a new generation of fans when he played the adult version of Zac Efron’s character in the 2009 comedy 17 Again.

In November 2020, Perry married to talent manager Molly Hurwitz, but the pair called it quits and separated six months later.
Perry published his bestselling memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing in November 2022, in which he detailed his struggle with fame and sobriety following his debilitating addiction with drugs and alcohol, spanning over two decades.
The Friends star underwent surgery in 2018 for a gastrointestinal perforation due to the overuse of opioids rupturing his colon.
Perry was found dead, aged 54, at his Los Angeles home on October 28 after accidentally drowning in his jacuzzi.
He had reportedly played a two-hour game of Pickleball – a sport similar to tennis but played on a smaller court – earlier in the day, before sending his assistant out on an errand. When they returned, Perry was said to be found unresponsive in his hot tub.
There was no indication of foul play and no drugs were found at the scene of his death, sources said this morning.
In his haunting last post to his Instagram, shared earlier this week, the star shared images of him in his pool, saying: ‘Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman.’
